Moving Day

This week is going to be moving day for our family. We have found a bigger house for all of our family. Our household consists of, my two adult daughters, three grandchildren, my husband and myself. We have decided that for this time it is a good thing for all of us to live together and assist with each other. It is working for us so far and we have committed to this arrangement for the next year. Things will be better for us in the new house since we will have more room than we have here where we are currently living. So I really think that things will be pretty good for us all.

Turkey

Well we went to the store this evening and had them put a turkey back for us. What they will do is put our turkey into their cooler and we go pick it up on Wednesday all thawed out for us. This is great for our family since we don't have room in our refrigerator for a turkey for several days. We were going to get a smaller turkey this year but since the store had such a good price on them we decided to get a bigger one. By bigger I mean we got almost a 29 pound turkey. But in addition to our family we have some other people coming here for dinner so we want to be sure that we have plenty of food on hand.

We will be going to the store on Wednesday to get everything else we are going to need for our dinner. I will be glad to be spending Thanksgiving with our daughters and our grandchildren. Last year we were not here with our family and I have to say that was a big bummer to say the least. So this year we are all going to be together and thankful if it kills me.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who still reads my blog. I realize to most of you who happen to drop by it is probably pretty boring. But that is the way things go. I am very thankful that all of my family is healthy and relatively happy. (as happy as we can be when conditions are as they are)

Next holiday season we are going to kick butt. We will be back in Florida with our family and we are going to make up for this holiday season that we missed.

So to all of you out there take time to tell your family how much you love them and how much they mean to you.

You see life as precious and special. Heritage and family are very important to you. Your life is quite hectic. You try to slow down when you can, but it's not easy! You are all about risk and randomness in your life. You travel off the beaten path... in fact, you're often the one carving the way! Eh, work is not really for you. You're all about playtime! You'll work if you have to, but you really don't like it. In another life, you could have been a great artist. You trust your creative instincts enough to let them lead you.

The Road Trip Test

I do see family as very special and I guess that is what is so hard for me right now. We as some of you know have just recently moved from Florida to Pennsylvania leaving our daughter Joy and our 3 grandchildren in Florida and then Jill moved shortly after to Holland. So for the first time in probably most of our family existence we are all living very much apart. It is really taking some adjusting and getting used to and to be honest I am not every sure I will get used to it completely. I miss my family dearly.

I am Loved

To say I am loved doesn't really describe how I felt yesterday. The day started out with cards being slipped under my door from my grandchildren. Then we had a great dinner of Turkey and all the trimmings to go with it. After dinner we opened presents. The kids gave Joy her cards and present for her Mother's Day. Then they gave Jill cards and her present for "Aunt's Day" which the kids have decided usually is the Sunday after Mother's Day but decided to celebrate it this year yesterday since Randy and I will be gone next Sunday. Then I got a major haul. You see I got Mother's day presents and since my birthday is next Friday I got birthday presents to boot. Let's see I got store bought cards, homemake cards, 2 DVD's, new PJ's and a beautiful bracelet and perfume.

I have attached a picture so you can see my stash. Sorry about the glare on the DVD but to clarify it for you it is Erin Brockovich. I absolutely love that movie. The girls know that I also have been wanting to purchase Charlie Wilson's War but did not want to pay the full price. I am hooked on the previously viewed movies at Blockbuster. So to have the new ones I LOVE IT!!!!!

For this wonderful day I say Thank You to to the following people. Randy, Jill, Joy, Kiayla, Zach, and last but certainly not least Nate. You all are the best family in the entire world.

Living in a nut house

OK, now the pressure is on. I am being pimped out on the blog of the Dutch Bitch so I have to think of something kind of funny. For me that is kind of hard because living in this house for as long as I have I seem to have misplaced my sense of humor. I mentioned it last night and I immediately had 4 children get that look on their face (which I can only describe as the Home Along look" you know the one I mean the mouth wide open and the shaking of the head from side to side. But they all four wanted to immediately make it perfectly clear that they had not taken my sense of humor. They said they hadn't even been in my room to even see it let alone take it from me. On the other hand the 18 month old just gave me that look like "Your Crazy Nannie" and she is right and the reason she know it is because she is the one who has pushed me right over the edge. The other night I was feeding her dinner. I do this every day because I am the only one that she will eat for. (I think it is that crazy look in my eyes she is afraid of me) but anyway. I can't remember everything she ate for supper but the last thing was some homemade applesauce that I had made. So I got ready to get her out of the high chair and she has this stuff all over the front of her shirt. I remember thinking that I didn't remember her getting food all over her but guessed she must have because there it was. I carefully picked her up being very careful not to get said food on me. Well she waived bye bye to everybody at the table and I took her to her room to change her diaper and get her PJ's on her so she would be ready later for bed. When I laid her down on the bed boy did I get a major shock. That was not food on her shirt it was poo and it was coming out of her diaper and down her leg. I immediately did what any sane person would do and yelled for someone else to come to assist and I tip toed out of the room only to find another lump of said poo deposited in her high chair. Now I ask you how does something so nasty come out of something so sweet? Cause I am telling you she can produce some nasty stuff.

An Introduction to Me

This is my first attempt at blogging. This is something new for me so it will come slowly at first. Bare with me as I attempt to put all of my thoughts into the written word for the world to see. I will give you a brief synopsis as to who I am. I am a wife to my husband of 40 years. I have two grown daughters who are 37 and 33. I also have three grandchildren who are the love of my life. They are my granddaughter "K" who is 9 years old and my twin grandsons "N" and "Z" and they are going to be turning 8 years old this coming Friday. I live in Central Florida and I've lived here on and off for the last 27 years...more on than off. I am originally from Evansville, Indiana and I lived there until 1980 when I moved with my husband and children to Florida.

I'm not one for writing and journaling my thoughts but I'm going to give it my best effort. What I write will be whatever is going on with my head at that given time so you never know what you're going to get. I hope you'll bookmark me and check back often for updates.
