Charge It

I worked for a company which sold automotive chemicals and lubricants to Auto Parts Stores around the country. They had a web site and decided that another way to market their products was to sell them via the Internet . They were aware that this was a whole other way to market their products. The first step was to have the web designer add product photos and product descriptions to the web site. They, the web site, then had to be set up with a shopping cart. After having everything up and working on the web site we were ready to receive orders.

We soon discovered that we had forgotten one very important issue. We were not ready to accept payment unless we were willing to bill customers and wait for them to hopefully mail us a check. So the next project was to find a Credit Card Merchant who would process various types of credit cards. This process turned out not to be the chore that I though it would be. We were even able to accept offshore international orders from around the world. This proved to be a very large market for the company.
