Technology and death

Technoloogy has changed the way we handle the death of a friend or love one.  When someone close to you passes away you call everyone who is close to you to notify them of the death.  But what do you do about the people that you only know through the internet on social media?  What we do is we post on our social media sites the information of the passing of our loved one.  We also create posts to share our grief long after the passing of our loved one just to share our grief with our online friends who if they are good online friends they will encourage us back by commenting on our post to let us know they care and many times to let us know we are not alone.

As a personal note from this writer I have many times placed something just like this to share my grief of losing my husband and my daughter with my online friends who in turn comment to encourage me and let me know I am not alone.

The news in Technology

Technology has has a huge change in how we get our news and how fast we get our news.  Before the advances in technology we received news in one of two ways, newspaper and television news.  With the newspaper we got the news the next day and with television we got the news the same day if it happened early enough to make it to the newscasts.  With the advancements we now receive our news immediately if not sooner.  We now get up to date news via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram no matter where we are we are connected.  While this seems like a great thing to be able to get the news immediately it can also be a bad thing.  Take the case of TMZ releasing the news of the death of Kobe Bryant's death before his family was notified.  For his family to receive the news at the same time as the general public was inexcusable to have happen.

Technology changes the arts

The advancement of technology has completely changed how we connect with people not only across town but across the world as well.  Technology has made big changes on the arts such as music and painting.  Many artists have turned to social media to promote their art. There are various ways this can be accomplished such as a setting up an Etsy page to sell their art.   A singer can also post videos on YouTube to promote their art.
