List of Oxymoron statements

OK I just heard one of the biggest oxymoron statements I have ever heard in my entire life. Jill is borrowing the "Mother's" car to go to the bus stop to pick up the 3 grandchildren. For the life of me I cannot understand why but she agreed to take the three year old with her. Call her CRAZY cause she is to do that. But as he was screaming at his "Mother" that he was going she said "JZ behave" now that is a true oxymoron because he can't, will not, and never mind anyone period! So that got me thinking about other oxymoron statements so I am going to try to list a few of them.

  1. a cappella with music
  2. accidentally on purpose
  3. act naturally
  4. a little big
  5. Amtrack schedule
  6. bad health
  7. civil war
  8. clear as mud
  9. clearly misunderstood
  10. deafening silence
  11. diet icecream
  12. front end
  13. paper tablecloth
  14. perfectly awful
  15. quiet scream
  16. real phony
  17. restless sleep
  18. single pair
  19. slight exaggeration
  20. small fortune
OK I could have listed hundreds more but didn't want to bore you so much you became "Half Dead".

Letter for Uncle Sam

I finally got my W-2 form today. I left the job last April and I knew how much I had earned because I kept the records while I was there. But, I had e-mailed them a couple of times asking for my W-2 form. The last e-mail I sent was yesterday and they mailed the w-2 out yesterday and I got it in the mail today. So now I need to figure the dreaded taxes. I only have the one w-2 form so it will be real easy to do. I used to purchase a tax return program for about $30.00 but now it is much easier you can file your taxes all without ever leaving the comfort of your home. I am here to tell you that if life gets any easier I just won't know what to do. I have no reason in life to even get dressed in the morning. This is much easier it is a self service online website for your US tax preparation. In Florida we don't have to file a state tax return but if you do you can save over 50% on your state return. So get on the ball and send your favorite Uncle his annual letter from you. Hope everybody gets a refund back and then you can go out and spend spend spend.

Crazy Woman

I have officially become a crazy woman and if you doubt it I have the road sign right there to prove it. I can be there in either a camper or a tent if I want to be. But it doesn't appear that there are any restaurants. Good that means I have to fix my own food and from the looks of the surrounding area I might even have to trap and kill it too. The Mother of the three year old is faking a cold and stayed home from work yesterday. Every so often she does a weak "cough cough". Today she had doctors appointments for both of her children and Jill was going to go with her to tell them all of the problems we have with the 3 year old. So Jill is up dressed and full makeup and the "Mother" comes up to give her some kind of line that the doctor's office called and the doctor had some issue at home and had to cancel their appointment. She can't even lie good, so that means she has been home all day again today. About 12:30 pm the baby just kept crying and Jill asked her if they had eaten anything yet and her response was "they had a few grapes". GRAPES that is no meal for an 18 month old much less the 3 year old. So Jill fixed the 3 year old something to eat and I fixed the baby something to eat and they finally went back into the room with the "Mother". Well a few minutes later she comes out and goes and gets herself a big can of chunky soup and sits at the kitchen table to eat it for herself. I mean she can't manage to feed her children but she can manage to sit there and feed her face. She has to be the poorest excuse for a "Mother" that I have ever in my entire life seen. Yesterday Jill and I kept her kids upstairs all day so we didn't have to listen to them scream and cry all day long. But today we both refuse to do that, she has had them but she cannot make either one of them mind. But this is what is absolutely driving me crazy. Dinner last night was a total nightmare neither of her kids would eat. She absolutely can't get them to eat for her and when she is at the table they will not eat for anybody else either. I am really at my wits end. All she does is scream and yell and cuss at them but let her walk in the door and they both absolutely kill themselves to get to her. If somebody treated me the way she treats them I would not want to get within a million miles of them. I really can't figure it out. But I do know she is a pathetic mother.

It's Not My Job

This Year's It"s Not My Job award and the winner is..... The only thing I can think of is that the the guy who was responsible for clearing the side of the road must have taken the day off the day the crew painted the lines on this road. It is a good thing that there was not a whole tree laying across the road or people in this area might have gone off road to stay to the left of the line on the side of the road.

I am back

I wonder if anybody missed me? Bet cha didn't. But Randy and I were gone for a couple of days. We have some friends that took pity on us and we went to spend the weekend with them. They know that a person of our age can only live in a house with 5 children and 3 other adults. OK 2 other adults and 1 person that is of adult age but not really and adult. But anyway, our friends thought we needed a rest and a break and we really did. We had a very good time and really didn't do anything all weekend just kind of rested and didn't hear any kids yell, scream and fight with each other. But all kidding aside we had a good weekend and came home feeling rested and relaxed and by the time dinner was over I was ready to go someplace else for another time of rest and peace and quiet. Right now as I type the baby is across the hall crying because she can't do just what she wants to do.

Moby Dick

Nate has to do a book report and it is now suddenly due tomorrow for school. The only thing is I am trying to figure out if he is doing a book report or an art project. He has to have a cover page. OK, that I can understand but he has to have a picture on the front that he either colored or drew. (Has this teacher seen his art abilities? I think not) But then he has to have several pages where again he draws pictures about important things in the book. So like I said this is a book report not an art project. But I have many questions about this teacher of his. I met her and I just don't like her for some reason. But as we speak Jill is supposed to be searching for pictures on the internet that we can print and let him do some sort of coloring to them so that when he has a picture of a whale it will actually look like a whale and not a legless cow or some sort of alien monster. Then once he gets all of his pages done for this stupid book report we have to put it into a notebook. I am beginning to think we would be better off if we invested in some type of binding machines then we could just bind it all together in a nice book looking project and he could hand it in. Maybe he would actually get some extra credit points for that. But since the project is due tomorrow I think our chances of getting that delivered here to the house today would be well.... slim to none. So I guess we will be making a Wall-Mart run later today to find some sort of notebook that he can put his project into and try to get all of the points possible. I mean come on he gets like 10 points for the cover and 10 points for the back and 20 points for this and 5 points for that. I think this teacher needs 25 points for being a nut case.

Sleeping 3 year old

Well it is now almost 12:30 PM and the three year old is still asleep. He was gone all day Tuesday with his mother which means he didn't take any sort of nap that day. Then she keeps her TV running all night long so he lays there and plays and watches TV while she sleeps like a baby. Then yesterday she took him to the home of the married man that she sleeps with and I use the term sleep very loosely. He was supposed to be part of a birthday party for this guys kid. She finally brought him home about 10:30 PM last night and you could tell he had been asleep in her car. Well at 11:30 he went to the kitchen with her while she popped pop corn and got them both drinks. So guess he watched TV all night long again last night. So now she is at work and he is sleeping like he should have last night. We have tried to tell the mother that her kids are staying awake all night long while she sleeps but she doesn't think anybody knows anything but her. I really do feel sorry for the kids.

Work Work Work

I have been trying to find a new source of income to support Randy and I in the lifestyle we haven't yet grown accustomed to, and in doing so have been thinking about some of the past jobs I have had. I remember when the girls were little I took a job working in the office at a grain elevator. Well to make a long story short it went from a 4 girl office to a 1 girl office and you guessed it I was the 1 girl. But, I was still doing the work of the original 4 girls. I was at the point that I was going to work at about 6:00 AM and not leaving there until about 12:00 AM or later. I actually went 2 weeks without seeing the girls awake. They were in the hands of their Dad and also a lot of help from his Mom.

I finally insisted at work that they either hire someone or else the Manager was going to be doing the work of the said 4 girls. Well they finally hired some young kid and I have never seen anyone so incompetent in all of my life. Back at that time we didn't have computers (I know you are saying WHAT were you born back in the dark ages? Yes I was) But we used to have to actually use the old fashioned way of cutting checks we actually had to type them out on a typewriter. I remember giving this kid some checks to type and instructed him that there could be no mistakes at all and no typos on them. I gave him several check that needed to be typed and after what seemed like weeks later I checked back with him and have never seen so many typos in all of my life. I told the manager I was going to go to lunch and when I got back that kid had better be gone or I would be gone. Now years later I look back and realize that all that kid needed was for an employer to have TrainingTime Workplace Training Resources available to him. He was young and needed training. But as busy as that job was I know even now that I did not have the time to train him myself. Now employers have many more options available to them than were ever available back in the "Dark Ages" and I really believe that companies should take care not only to train new employees but to give their long time employees additional training.

New Web Shopping Portal Streamlines the Search for Training Solutions

SUNRISE, Fla. – From leadership development to forklift safety, keeping employees skilled, motivated and productive may be the most difficult assignment for companies of all sizes.

For success in the 21st century business world, employee training is critical.

TrainingTime.com, a newly launched website from Sunrise-based Everglades Direct Inc. (EDI), was expertly designed to make that task much easier, whether your company is a local mini-mart or a global corporation.

“Focus groups and market research indicate that many businesses feel that employee training and development is too time-consuming and costly, despite the wide range of solutions available, and despite the great return on investment” said Jodi Katz, market research manager for EDI.

“Without employee training,” says Juniper Germain, an organizational development professional with EDI, “your company can easily slip behind the competition, because no amount of slick merchandising can compensate for badly trained employees who miss sales opportunities, bungle orders or alienate customers.”

Unfortunately, many business leaders consider employee training to be a luxury only large corporations can afford. That, says Germain, is only a myth. To prove it yourself, she says, visit TrainingTime.com and take a quick tour of the site.

Hit and Run

The girls took the Grandkids out to eat this evening and decided that Randy and I could have a quiet evening here alone. Well they hadn't been gone to long and the phone rang and it was the girls. I thought ok so much for the quiet evening. Well, Jill said that they were going down the road and a deer ran out and ran into the drivers side of Joy's car. They are not home yet so I haven't seen it yet. But, I guess they said he knocked the side view mirror off and something about a hole in the front quarter panel near the hood. I guess they are very blessed that they did not have an accident. It did not kill the deer as it ran off into the nearby grove. So I guess you could say they were involved in a hit and run accident. Guess the deer didn't have any insurance cause he didn't stick around to make any kind of accident report. I am just thankful that they were not injured and didn't actually wreck Joy's car. Guess I will get a look at it when they get home later this evening. I mean the stupid deer could have come through Joy's open window or through the windshield and it could have been a very serious issue. Thankfully things are ok.

Heart Day!

It is just about Valentines Day so when you start your shopping be sure do use the online coupons that are available at CouponChief.com. I have determined that shopping online is just the way to go. I did some of my Christmas shopping online and it was a breeze. One of the things I am going to look for is Target Coupons. I know I can get Randy something there for sure. I think I will check KB Toys deals and try to pick something up there for the grandchildren. I ought to be able to score big there for the kids and surely there is something there that will please all three of them. They make is as simple as entering your coupon code and presto you will have taken care of everyone on your shopping list.
