Downsizing

Randy and I have decided that it is time to downsize some of our possessions. We have had things that have been boxed up for several years now and it is time to do one of many things with our possessions.

  • We can choose to keep something because it has sentimental value to us, or we need it or well we just want it.
  • We can choose to give something away to either family or strangers because they either want it or you can convince them they want it.
  • We could choose to sell something..... But, that would mean we would have to have something of value. So, ok that option is out for us.
  • We could give something away as a charitable donation. We do have some things we are going to do this with.
  • We could choose to just throw it away in the trash. Which we have some things that we are going to do that with.

This is not an easy thing for me to do as I am a self confessed pack rat. I am one of those people who hate to get rid of anything. I always have the fear I will get rid of something today and then tomorrow decide that I absolutely need what I just gave away. But I am going to do this and hopefully I will never miss what I have decided to give away or throw away. So keep all of your fingers crossed that I don't go running through the house in the middle of the night taking back things I gave away today.

United Breaks Guitars

Saw this story this morning on Fox News and just had to put this on my blog. I have seen what airlines can do to your luggage first hand believe me. Although I thought it was probably the band of gorillas that they had who actually stomped and threw your luggage around. I say go guy get your money the airlines owes you.

Make a dent

My daughter Joy just recently purchased a car that could use just a little bit of assistance from body shops downey in California. That would be if she lived in California which she does not right now. But she has just a bit of minor fender damage on the rear end of her car. Although she still might check into them because they have the largest network of collision repair experts. They actually have thousands of testimonials from satisfied customers giving you the peace of mind that you are going to get your vehicle back to its pre-accident condition. Plus they are firm believers that your safety is their number one concern and they would never do anything to compromise the quality of their work in the repairing of your vehicle.

Fourth of July

Here is hoping that everyone out there in the US of A has a very good and safe 4th of July. Today is nothing special for us. We are just hanging out here at the house. As a matter of fact I slept this afternoon cause for some reason my body decided not to sleep during the night.

Walls closing in

When you think life is tough and the walls are closing in on you just think it could be worse. You could be this lizard in this birds mouth. I know lizards are fast but as for me I will place my bets on the bird having a lizard snack and not on the lizard doing the victory dance of freedom. So as for me guess things could be worse. Although some days I really don't think so. But guess they can so I will try not to complain. (much)

There are just times even in a house that is just about full of TV sets that I am not near one. Take for instance when we are out on the back patio or on the front porch. This is a good time to be able to watch my one of my new favorite TV programs on my laptop. For instance there is a new show on TV that I have only seen once but I fell in love with it. It is called The Philanthropist. Is is based on a real person and I really enjoyed watching it. So be sure I am signing up for this Free TV Online.

Listen for the bell

I found this a while back on another blog somewhere I am not even sure where but I really enjoyed reading it and thought someone else might enjoy it to.

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse.

But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse you will discover that he is blind.

His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but instead has made a good home for him.

This alone is amazing.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.

Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two horses, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges. He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....

Good friends are like that... you may not always see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.

And remember...be kinder than necessary - everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly.....Leave the rest to God...

Second Honeymoon

I found this on another blog and decided to borrow it. Guess it has been out there on the internet but I haven't seen it until today. Thought it was funny.

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.

Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel.. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email, expecting messages from relatives and friends.

After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife

Subject: I've Arrived

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I've seen that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then!!!! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

P.S. Sure is freaking hot down here!!!!

Watch the Time

I have never had a real expensive watch. But to be honest I would love to have a real Rolex watch. So when I get in these moods to find something where do I go? I go to the internet where else. Well I found this site www.bestoftime.com and they actually offer genuine Roles watches and sell them at a substantial discount off of the manufacturer's suggested retail price. They are what is called an independent dealer of not only new but pre-owned Rolex watches and they can actually avoid the manufacturer's pricing controls and pass on the discounts to their customers. It has a lot to do with the fact that they get the Rolex watches in larger quantities and then they have a very low markup so we the customer can be the ones to benefit from having the savings passed down to us. In checking out their web site they actually have 13 pages of just Rolex watches for women. I mean if you are looking for that watch that will last you for a lifetime and beyond you have got to check this site out. Their prices are really great and they are members of the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating so you can't get any better than that. All of their Rolex Watches are 100% genuine certified and authentic and come with a 3 year warranty and free fedex shipping is included.

Rain Rain don't go away

We got our grandson a Rain Gauge last week and he has had it in the yard ever since waiting very impatiently I might add for some rain. Well last night during the night we got the wished for rain. So I went out with his this morning and he brought the gauge in so that he could read it and mark it down on the chart he has decided to keep. We actually got .7 of an inch of rain. Which I think is pretty good if you ask me. He was very excited for about 30 seconds and then off to do something more interesting than read a rain gauge. You know like playing Wii or watching the TV or some other mindless thing that 9 year old boys do. But the rain gauge we purchased is actually just like the one pictured above. It is really very easy to read which is good for 9 year olds and 61 year olds. OK I am the old one. Get over it.
