Charge it

I think that with all of the online shopping that has taken people by storm that you are shut out of that ability if you don't have a credit card. There is no way you can send your cash or check through the computer so credit cards have become a must. I realize also that a lot of people out there already have multiple credit cards that they carry in their wallet and they may want to take advantage of balance transfers and have less payments every month. They can transfer the balance from one or more cards to a third card and possibly lower their actual monthly payments that way. I am also amazed to learn that there are actually interest free credit cards out there for people. Now that would be the way to go if you ask me. Just check thing out before you actually apply and use your card the first time.

Cleaning Day

Saturday, we have everyone in the house working their fingers to the bone cleaning. The kids are all cleaning and we are really getting some things done for a change. Seems like everyone in the house is in the cleaning mood at the same time. That can be god and can be dangerous at the same time. So many people cleaning and dusting and running the sweeper we could accidentally suck the cat up if he stayed in one place for very long but I don't think he likes the sound of the sweeper so he has hid somewhere in the house.

Being prepared is not just for the Boy Scouts. A few years ago here in Florida we got hit in one season with not one but three hurricanes Charlie was the first, then Francis and finally Jeanne hit us. When these storms hit us in Central Florida we had lived in the state for over 20 years and had not had a hurricane hit central Florida since 1960 so we did not have any idea what to expect. We were without electric for days each storm. Which meant the gas stations could not pump gas the grocery stores could not sell groceries and they lost all of their frozen food and fresh meat. It was a hard time to get through. It was a couple of days before the Red Cross was here to help so for that time people were basically on their own. Are you ready for an emergency. Dinner Time

Well I did it I proved to my family that I still know how to cook. I rarely cook anymore either my oldest daughter cooks or my husband does some of it. But today I took a 2 pound beef roast and turned it into dinner for ten people. I cooked the roast all day long on very slow heat on top of the stove until I could just pull it apart with a fork. Than I made a table full of homemade noodles and we had beef and noodles for supper. We had mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and we all ate like we were condemned prisoners ready for our last and final meal before our execution. But now that I am thinking about it I could almost go another little helping. Bit since it is 11 PM I think I will pass and maybe my rear end will not go up 2 sizes by morning.

It's an electronic world

I have just about come to the conclusion that we can take care of everything that we need without ever leaving the comfort of our home. There probably is nothing that we can not take care of on the internet. Now we have the ability to apply for an emortgage. This way there are no lengthy papers to fill out by hand which then someone has to sit and key all the hand written information into a data system. This extra step always leads to the opportunity for error. This way if you fill out the emortgage information and there is an error well then I guess you have no one to blame except yourself. Hopefully when you get the mortgage approved and purchase your dream home they will then figure out an easier way of moving without all of the packing and actual moving. Oh, I guess they have it is called a moving company. Something which I have never had the luxury of using.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

Well it is midnight and my two daughters just came in from making a snack run. They brought me a huge cream filled long john. I can't tell you how good it tasted except to say oh my gosh Becky! I can't believe I ate the whole thing. I wasn't just your normal long john it was really big and it was so good. I think I have died and gone to heaven. I can say one thing I will regret it in the morning I can tell you that for sure.

Driving me Crazy

I am here to tell you that living with 5 children in the same home with me is about to drive me crazy. I know why God gives children to women when they are younger. Cause at my age it is sometimes more than I can take. They are either fighting and yelling with each other. Or they are playing and yelling with each other. Either way there is a whole lot of yelling going on. No wonder why I have a headache most of the time.

Turning things around

I am tired of this constant financial conundrum that we seem to be in. If I had a regular nine to five paying job, right now I'd be looking into Payday Loan Quotes. Money seems to be so tight right now. In fact, its so tight that its non-existent. It's hard to go from having a set amount of money each week to having nothing coming in. Things are looking up I guess. I am trying to keep hope alive that the finances will turn around soon and we'll be back on the track to financial independence in a short time frame.

School Bus Rides

Well today I called the country school bus transportation for the 4th time about issues going on with the school bus that my grandchildren ride to and from school. Last Friday I called because some bully kid pushed one of the boys down into the seat and sat on his head. You heard me right he sat on N's head and in the process broke his $400.00 glasses. Well his mom got them repaired and today the other grandson Z had someone stab him in the wrist with a pencil and he has a puncture wound in his wrist. I called back in and got the usual run around. That they will investigate and call me back well some day we should get a lot of phone calls because all four times we have called we have been promised a return call and have not received one as of yet. Now the guy says that he will be at the bus stop in the morning. I counted yesterday and at their bus stop 56 kids got off the bus. Plus they have two stops before they get here. I don't know what we are going to do because the bus is the only way we have of getting them to and from school. Guess I could get my broom out but not sure it is a 4 passenger or not.

As the nation approaches the final countdown to Christmas, new research rings alarm bells over the financial impact of Christmas in credit crunch Britain. The research from the new money saving website Savebuckets.com reveals that as Brits prepare for Christmas, many are still paying off last year’s festive spending.

With 41 per cent of Britons paying for Christmas on credit last year, almost one in five are still paying for last year’s festivities (17%), fewer than one in three having cleared their Christmas debts when their January credit card bill arrived (29%).

Following a year of consumer confidence in 2006, Christmas spending soared 52 per cent in two years (from an average £548 per adult in 2004* to £837 per adult in 2006), with over one in five Brits spending over £1,000 on Christmas last year (22%). This year, with spending power at its lowest level for 10 years**, consumers are feeling the financial hangover from a more confident Christmas enjoyed on the credit card and loans.

Alarmingly, it is cash strapped youngsters and low income earners who, having spent the most on last Christmas, are most likely to be feeling the repercussions of last year’s spending spree (see figures below).

The research into the financial impacts of last Christmas amongst a GB representative sample of 2,000 British adults was carried out by the new money savings website Savebuckets.com which launches this week to enable Brits to get more for their money this Christmas.

With these alarming figures in mind, Savebuckets.com will give shoppers the opportunity to save up to 20% on their Christmas shopping. Putting consumers back in control of their spending, the site searches over 700 retailers for the best price on around one million products.
